CITY OF BATESVILLE,ARKANSAS
INDEPENDENCE COUNTY
WHEREAS,the White River Health System, Inc. plans to construct a Center for Women and
Imaging on the White River Medical Center campus; and
WHEREAS,the United States of America has authorized the U.S. Department of Commerce,
Economic Development Administration, to make grants to public bodies and private nonprofit
organizations to aid in financing the construction of specific projects; and
WHEREAS,the White River Health System, Inc., is acting in cooperation with officials of the
City of Batesville; and
WHEREAS,the White River Health System, Inc. is a cluster industry for economic
development within the White River region and provides job opportunities for area residents.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of Batesville, Arkansas
supports the White River Health System,Inc. Josephine Raye Rogers Center for Women
and Imaging and encourages the application to the U.S. Department of Commerce
Economic Development Administration for funding assistance for the project.
