WHEREAS, the Batesville City Council has passed an Ordinance cal','ng for an election
concerning the annexation of certain lands lying south of White River to be c nsidered by voters on
the November 4, 2014 ballot, and
WHEREAS,the City of Batesville establishes property tax millage rates each year in October
in accordance with Arkansas Law, and
WHEREAS,the Batesville City Council desires to make a commitme it to the Citizens of
Batesville concerning future property tax millage rates levied by the City of B tesville if the proposed
annexation is approved by voters and becomes final.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Batesville, Arkansas that:
"If the proposed annexation of certain lands lying south of White River is approved by voters in the
November 4, 2014 General Election and becomes final, the City shall adjust its property tax millage
rate from the current 5.4 mills to 4.4 mills (a reduction of 1.0 mills or approximately 18.51 %) at the
next millage assessment and for the next applicable period."
This RESOLUTION adopted this 14th day of October, 2014.
